Position Description Summary
Reporting to the Quality Assurance & Inventory Control Supervisor the successful candidate will oversee all Hold & Release/Quality Assurance aspects for Maple Leaf Foods. This is accomplished through working in partnership with MLF QA and the CFIA. Comprehensive understanding and adherence to GMP and HACCP policies, procedures, and root cause analysis is required. In addition, comprehensive understanding of hold management processes and primary stakeholder in all quality programs and roll-outs.
Principal Accountabilities
* Adherence to all GMP and HACCP quality programs required by Maple Leaf Foods.
* Place on hold any finished product not meeting food safety, quality, or regulatory requirements.
* Confirm holds from client template, matching hold templates with system inventory
* Identify held pallet with caution tape and remove any pallets from ground level storage to vertical racking.
* Investigate any quantity discrepancies.
* Perform daily cycle counts of held product and reconcile to system inventory.
* Provide daily inventory reports of held product to client.
* Manage held product that may be in picking process to prevent shipments.
* Manage held product that may be in transit.
* Provide sampling of held product to client as required.
* Coordinate pick and ship of held product as required to return to client’s production facilities.
* Manage release of product back to saleable as required; confirm release of product back to client.
* Manage and coordinate with client the disposition of product for destruction.
* Managing and assisting expectations of the CFIA in regards to U.S. Import Inspect Shipments.
* Manage the warehouse’s damaged/tankage inventory and schedule shipments for damaged/tankage material.
Knowledge and Skills
* 3 - 5 years’ experience in quality programs such as GMP, 5S Kaizen and HACCP compliance.
* 3 - 5 years in a fast paced environment with a proven track record.
* Team oriented individual able to work constructively and cooperatively with team members as well as with other departments.
* Strong attention to detail and quality focused.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an ability to conduct the root cause analysis and proactively analyze findings and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* A high degree of initiative and the ability to work in a team environment are essential.
* Excellent knowledge of overall warehousing processes.
* Strong computer skills.
